The Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal is being designed for an annual air cargo throughput of 2.6 million tonnes. The terminal will increase the air cargo handling capacity of HKIA by some 50% to 7.4 million tonnes per year. Moreover, at the heart of the cargo terminal is a HK$1.4 billion mechanical handling system (MHS) which will be one of the most advanced in the world when complete.

WT Partnership have been engaged on this project since mid of 2006 and our commission is to provide comprehensive pre and post contract quantity surveying services. Due to the global financial crisis in 2008, the project was suspended for 18 months. During this period the design was finalized by the project team and tender documentation for key contracts was prepared for use when the project was re-ignited in November 2009.

The main contract was awarded to the successful bidder in March 2010 and WT Partnership continue to provide post-contract quantity surveying services. Total GFA will be in excess of 250,000 m².
