Project Description

A major administrative hub on a Defence base has a large on-grade car park. This project was initiated to provide shade to the parking spaces by adding steel framed roofed structures, to which photovoltaic panels were affixed. The array of panels fed into convertor and substations and could provide a significant proportion of the operating load of the administrative buildings.

WT were involved at the concept and detailed design stages of the project, providing capital cost estimates to feed into the initial Business Case documentation. Then refine those estimates as the project moved towards construction.

The scope included the BOP incl civil and structural foundations and steelwork, the PV panels, collectors, and substations, trenching and cabling.
