WT has been selected by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority to provide full quantity surveying consultancy services for the construction of the Lyric Theatre at the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) since 2014.

Sitting alongside M+ at the western end of the WKCD, the Lyric Theatre Complex will be Hong Kong’s first world-class facility for dance performances, and a wide variety of performing arts events including drama, opera and musical performances. The total construction floor area of the Theatre is about 45,000m² .

Project Features:

The project includes the construction of a nine-storey high Lyric Theatre including architectural fitting-out works, supply and installation of fitting, fixtures and theatre equipment and loose furniture.
The theatre comprises the following features:
a 1,450-seat main theatre, a 600-seat medium theatre and a 250-seat studio theatre, as well as a Resident Company Centre and a full range of professional rehearsals, communal and supporting facilities.
The Resident Company Centre will serve as a hub for dance companies and artists in Hong Kong for the exploration and long term dance development and collaborations. Lyric Theatre Complex is expected to change the local performing arts scene, and be one of the most exciting new venues for international programming in the city.
